It non-invasively removes the outer layer of the skin as the laser is a combination of a gaseous mixture. - It’s critical to avoid tanning or excessive sun exposure. So, for the four weeks leading up to your treatment, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day.
- For at least three days before treatment, avoid using drugs that cause sun sensitivity, such as doxycycline or minocycline.
- Inform your practitioner if you have a history of herpes (such as oral cold sores or genital) or shingles in your treatment area. Your doctor may recommend antiviral medicine, such as valacyclovir or acyclovir. It usually begins two days before treatment and continues for three days following treatment.
- Even if the weather is cloudy, you should apply sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun rays. Instead, use a moderate cleanser and moisturizer twice a day to avoid harsh products. Makeup should be kept to a bare minimum because it might irritate the skin.
- It is necessary to clean the treatment area two to five times per day. Instead of your typical cleaner, you’ll use saline or vinegar-based solutions recommended by your doctor.
- You’ll also need new dressings to keep your skin clean.
